

Sharjah has revealed a major employment initiative under its 2026 general budget. The highly renowned city of the United Arab Emirates has announced 2,000 government job opportunities, including 1,000 new posts dedicated to Emirati men and women.
The announcement serves as an official declaration that His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, has officially approved. This showcases the UAE's ongoing commitment to developing its local workforce. At the same time, the program will create job opportunities for young people to establish a sustainable human capital development program.
The recruitment process will be managed by the Sharjah Department of Human Resources (SDHR). Under this program, job interviews for government positions throughout the emirate's different cities and regions will begin. Most of these vacancies are beneficial for new graduates and qualified Emirati professionals. Most notably, these policies align with Sharjah's goal to increase national participation in public-sector employment.
The government has approved hundreds of new scholarships for Emirati students and children of Emirati women. Additionally, there are newly created job opportunities for them as well. The scholarships provide funding for students to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies at institutions including the American University of Sharjah, the University of Khorfakkan, the University of Kalba, the University of Al Dhaid, and the Sharjah Maritime Academy.
The official SDHR website, Sharjah's government media platforms, and Sharjah Radio and Television public announcements provide candidates with job listings and application details. The integrated approach connects educational programs with training and employment opportunities, which creates a continuous path that helps graduates find jobs.
The policy will affect Sharjah's entire workforce system, along with its short-term hiring requirements. The government will create new job opportunities through its expanded staffing, capital investments, and institutional development activities across its infrastructure and service operations. Partnership with private companies will also play a key role in this scheme.
The organization establishes a new recruitment strategy, which includes early-career positions and scholarship programs to build its future workforce. The programs will deliver essential skills training because they need to prepare upcoming employees for both their specialized job functions and their administrative responsibilities in government operations and development work.
