Premium leisure carrier beOnd has signed an agreement with Bahrain authorities. The company plans to explore launching an airline that will connect major global destinations. This move is expected to create around 1,200 direct jobs across the GCC.
The proposed airline aims to link Bahrain with cities in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America. The focus will be on premium leisure and business travelers. The company plans to house and operate 10 aircraft in Bahrain by 2030.
Over the first five years of operations, the airline is expected to add between $1.2 billion and $1.5 billion to Bahrain’s GDP. Through the deal, 1,200 direct high-skilled jobs would be created. It may even support more than 6,000 indirect roles in tourism, hospitality, logistics, and related sectors. The initiative supports Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, which focuses on economic growth, private sector expansion, and job creation for both nationals and expatriates.
beOnd plans to launch structured training programs for pilots, cabin crew, engineers, and ground staff. The airline also seeks to invest in simulators and maintenance facilities. Artificial intelligence will be used in operations, maintenance, revenue management, and passenger services to improve efficiency and customer experience. The company has already started the process of securing an Air Operator Certificate in Saudi Arabia as part of its wider Gulf expansion.
beOnd deal could strengthen Bahrain’s position in the regional aviation market. The new airline would boost connectivity, support tourism, and attract rich travelers to the kingdom. The initiative will be important to Bahrain’s long-term economic growth strategy.
