Sharjah’s Instant License offers a rapid pathway to company formation, allowing business owners to secure approval and begin operations within 24 hours. The initiative supports SMEs, encourages foreign investment, and aligns with the UAE’s ongoing efforts to streamline regulatory processes.

Sharjah Instant License

The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) has introduced a new “Instant License” service for entrepreneurs to obtain a commercial license within one working day. The initiative eliminates the need for a Memorandum of Association or a signed lease contract during the first year. This is aimed at attracting investment, reducing bureaucracy, and supporting the emirate’s push for a more dynamic and competitive economy.

The Sharjah Executive Council approves the service. This license is available for office-based businesses that do not require external approvals from other government departments. After the first year, businesses should complete the usual licensing requirements to continue operating legally.

What Did SEDD Say about Instant License?

SEDD stated that the initiative also intends to curb unlicensed business activity by offering a fast and legal alternative. It is expected to give new entrepreneurs and expanding companies a head start, especially in sectors aligned with Sharjah’s economic goals.

Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, Chairman of SEDD, said the department is working to build a flexible and supportive regulatory environment.

“This service reflects Sharjah’s commitment to making business easier and more accessible,” Al Mahmoud said. “We want to attract investors, support entrepreneurs, and ensure Sharjah remains a leading destination for economic development both regionally and globally.”

He stressed that the service reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council.

Closing Note

Under the Instant License, investors can begin operations immediately and employ up to three workers under each license. This service will cover all office activities that do not require approvals from other authorities.

In an era where agility defines success, Sharjah’s Instant License gives entrepreneurs a critical head start. The ability to legally establish a company in one day reduces friction, saves costs, and accelerates time to market.
