Sharjah Digital Department (SDD) announced a new digital milestone hit by the emirate’s government entities. The departments completed more than 2.8 million online service transactions in 2025. A sharp increase from the previous year that showed the emirate’s continued push towards faster and more accessible public services.

According to the SDD report, the government platforms handled over 30 million instant data exchanges during the year. Hence, reducing manual processes and improving response times for users.

Expanding Network Connectivity

A key driver of this progress is the expansion of the Unified Government Network. More than 65 % of central government entities are now linked to this shared system. The network supports secure communication, stable infrastructure, and smoother coordination between departments. This growing connectivity plays an important role in building a reliable digital environment where systems operate together instead of in isolation.

Building Digital Skills Across Government

Digital growth has also focused on people, not just technology. During 2025, over 25,000 employees in government entities received access to updated digital tools and support programs. These initiatives aim to improve technical readiness and help staff deliver services more efficiently. By strengthening digital skills internally, Sharjah is ensuring that technology improvements translate into better public experiences.

Sharjah Digital Integration Forum Discussed Future Direction

These developments were highlighted during the Sharjah Digital Integration Forum. Senior officials and government leaders gathered to discuss the next phase of digital cooperation. Officials stressed that digital integration is no longer a short-term upgrade but a permanent way of operating.

Plans for 2026 will focus on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data systems, digital services, and infrastructure development. Moreover, a cooperation agreement was signed with the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre. It is for collaborating in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), supporting knowledge exchange, and technical advancement.

A Clear Path Ahead

The steady rise in digital activity, wider network integration, and employee readiness all point toward a more connected government structure. Customer services are expected to improve further as systems become more unified and services more streamlined. Residents and businesses operating in Sharjah can expect quicker access and improved service reliability in the years ahead.
